How to cite: Dataset for H-CAB: Governments in Western Europe 1919-1945 (release August 2021)
The Historical Cabinets (H-CAB) dataset is a historical extension of (some of) the data on governments available at REPDEM and covers cabinets formed between 1919 and 1945 in 12 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Netherland, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom). In addition, new data for France was also collected for the period 1945–1958, covering the Fourth Republic which was not previously included. The H-CAB dataset provides data on dates of cabinet formation and dissolution, along with data on the cabinet party composition, allowing for analysis of cabinet formation and duration during the interwar period.
