New data release: Historical cabinets in Europe (February 2025)

The Historical Cabinets (H-CAB) dataset is a historical extension of European governments available at REPDEM and covers cabinets formed between 1919 and 1945.

In addition, new data for France was also collected for the period 1945–1958, covering the Fourth Republic which was not previously included.

Update 2.0 includes 8 countries not previously covered, for a total of 20 European countries between 1919-1958. The H-CAB dataset provides data on dates of cabinet formation and dissolution, along with data on the cabinet party composition, allowing for analysis of cabinet formation and duration.
