We are happy to announce the data release Party Government in Europe Database (PAGED) – Basic dataset.
This comparative dataset builds on previous data collection projects on REPDEM and provide an in-house update of much of the data to mid-2023. Some additional variables have also been added. Please note that the so-called governance variables (e.g., conflict management mechanisms), and other variables that require country experts on coalition politics are not included (and will be released later).
The dataset provides detailed information on important aspects of government formation and government termination in 28 European countries from 1945 (or their democratic transitions) up to June 1st, 2023.
